✏️ Design Process

Research to Understand
The research conducted revealed that payment-by-message enhances both satisfaction and efficiency. This feature allows patients to pay via text or email without the need to log in, catering to modern patient preferences. Practices benefit from faster payment processing, reduced staff workload, and improved cash flow, making it a win-win solution.

UI Design
Cross Teams Ideation:

For this new feature, I collaborated with nearly all teams to ensure that every impacted workflow within the Practice Management app was considered. This included the patient ledger, reports, statement generation, and the check-in/check-out process. The goal was to integrate the new feature seamlessly, leverage the additional payment options it introduced, and streamline the overall payment process for both patients and practices.

UI Design

Prototyping and User Testing

Development of prototypes using Angular Material and Stripe components for the payment process. Initial testing was conducted with internal stakeholders to iterate and refine the designs before moving on to testing with final customers.

πŸ’Ž Project Milestones

  • Team Alignment and Workflow Integration:
Coordinated across all involved teams and created tailored UI assets for each impacted workflow.
  • HIPAA-Compliant Design:
Developed a password-less system to confirm patient identity while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Revenue Growth:
Positioned the feature as a payment add-on, generating additional revenue both from customers subscribing to it and from the increased volume of payments processed through the system.
